FAQs

  • What is an edible garden?

An edible garden is a space (container, in-ground, or raised bed) in which veggies, fruits, and herbs grow. Only edible and medicinal herbs and plants are grown is these gardens.

  • Does Uprooted Gardens do landscaping?

Although we do love a great landscaped yard, we here at Uprooted only service edible garden spaces. We believe that our community can reduce the need for store-bought groceries, and grow their own…and we want to help! So…sorry, but don’t call us to aerate your lawn, haha! We can definitely grow veggies in your front lawn though!

  • Do you build raised beds?

Absolutely! All of our raised beds are built with 4″x4″ western rough-cut cedar beams.

  • Does Uprooted Gardens service home and commercial gardens?

Yes! We are here for homeowners, community gardeners, school garden programs, restaurant owners, and HOA’s who want to grow edible gardens.

  • Do I need to have drip irrigation set up in order to enroll in garden maintenance services?

Yes! We believe that drip irrigation is the best way to ensure even, timely watering. Considering we are in South Texas, we also have to be “water-wise” when deciding how to care for your garden. The amount spent on a simple drip irrigation system will save you so much in the long run- both in time and money to your water bill. Also, since our maintenance service only visits 1x per week, there is no guarantee of someone being in the garden everyday, at the same exact time to water. Therefore, this is our fool-proof way to make sure your garden is being watered perfectly everyday!
